THE UNBURDENED BODY
This series centres on reclaiming the nude from the automatic sexualized gaze and challenging the belief that a person’s value is tied to how their body looks. What began as a fascination with the human figure became a practice devoted to portraying the body as ordinary, expressive, and inherently worthy—free from comparison, idealization, or shame.
As I grew more aware of how deeply society judges and categorizes women’s bodies, I felt compelled to create images that resist those narratives. Through vibrant colour and impressionistic form, I depict women with presence, autonomy, and honesty, emphasizing humanity over desirability.
My paintings are a celebration of women: their complexity, strength, softness, and individuality. They advocate for body positivity and dignity, inviting viewers to encounter nudity without sexualization and to honour the body as a reflection of lived experience—not a measure of value.
