THE COTERIE

When I initially met with the owners of The Coterie this mural was going to look very different than it does now. We knew exactly what mood the mural needed to convey, but it was harder to nail down exactly how we wanted to bring that tone forward. Our goal was to bring the energy of the avenue inside, to capture the revelry and joy that comes from walking down this street as the sun sets. In the end we went with an impressionist version of Whyte Avenue, the thoroughfare that The Coterie resides just off of. Goal accomplished I'd say.
